Danny Trejo: From “Machete” to Explorer of Aztec Secrets
Danny Trejo, the 81-year-old actor, is surprised by pre-Hispanic Mexico in the new season of “Misterios Inexplorados”, a program he is proud of because it teaches something.
The actor shared his amazement at the Templo Mayor and how pre-Hispanic and colonial elements converge with modern society.
“Right next to the large Cathedral, there are ruins, that’s what really impressed me. Anywhere, you can find something. I’ve been digging in my backyard to see if there’s anything,” he joked.
Beyond his violent roles, Danny Trejo highlighted his facet as a narrator, considering that conveying teachings gives his career a more complete sense.
“I’m not just wielding a machete, shooting a gun, or hitting someone. I’m actually teaching something, and I think that’s a more complete career. I’m really proud, proud of this program,” he said.
“Misterios Inexplorados” will air on History Channel on April 18, with one episode per week until June 20.
